Pangandaran, a small fishermen village, a stiff 6 hours driving from Bandung, has often been compared with Bali: a reasonable nightlife, beautifull beaches and a paradise for surfers. That all was before the 2006 tsunami which wiped away great parts of Pangandaran.
There are many ways to get to Pangandaran. Sure you can take the bus, but it's a long way to Pangandaran. With the arrival of a little Chesna airport on Pangandaran beach it's also possible to fly from Jakarta straight to Pangandaran.
