Pangandaran, a small fishermen village, a stiff 6 hours driving from Bandung, has often been compared with Bali: a reasonable nightlife, beautifull beaches and a paradise for surfers. That all was before the 2006 tsunami which wiped away great parts of Pangandaran.
There are many ways to get to Pangandaran. With the arrival of a little Chesna airport on Pangandaran beach it's also possible to fly from Jakarta straight to Pangandaran. But the old fashion way like bus- and traintrips are also still available.
